Do you have availability on [a certain] date?

Our online booking page shows live availability for all tours and dates.

Small Group Tour departing Margaret River Area

Small Group Tour departing Busselton Area

Small Group Tour departing Yallingup / Dunsborough area.

If your preferred date isn’t showing, please get in touch and we’ll check it for you. Sometimes we can make things work or expand the availability depending on the schedule.

Which wineries do you visit on your small group tours?

The wineries we visit can vary from tour to tour, depending on a few factors like where our guests are staying, venue availability, and the preferences of the group. For example, if everyone’s keen on gin, we might even swap our final winery stop of the day for a visit to a local gin distillery if time allows.
We also carefully plan our routes so you spend more time tasting and less time driving between venues.
Some of our favourite wineries and stops include:

  • Passel Estate
  • Grace Farm
  • LS Merchants
  • Vasse Felix
  • Fermoy Estate
  • Lenton Brae
  • Thompson Estate
  • Si Vintners
  • Amato Vino
  • Amelia Park
  • Voyager
  • Vallée du Venom
  • Jilyara
  • Ad Hoc by Cherubino
  • Fraser Gallop
  • Aravina
  • Beerfarm (often for lunch)

If you’d like to visit specific wineries or design your own perfect day, a private tour is your best option. We’re always happy to help craft an itinerary that suits your tastes!

Can you cater to special venue requests, like a must-see winery?

With our small group tours, we sometimes can, but it does depend on the day. The itinerary is designed to keep travel times short and to include a mix of great quality venues that work well together, so fitting in specific wineries isn’t always possible.

If you have a particular preference, you can mention it at checkout and we’ll do our best to accommodate where we can. For example, swapping the last stop for a brewery or gin distillery works quite easily.

If there’s a must-see winery on your list, your best option is to book a private tour instead. That way you can choose exactly where you go, and we’ll build the day around your preferred venues.

How many people are on your small group tours?

Our small-group tours typically host a maximum of 11 guests for a more intimate experience.

What's included on the tour?

All of our tours include return transport from your accommodation in one of our comfortable vehicles, with a friendly local guide looking after you for the day.

Our small group tours are all-inclusive, covering tasting fees at three wineries and a main meal at lunch (drinks with lunch are extra).

A final stop of the day for some drinks may be included (if time permits) and drinks are not included at this stop.

Can we buy wine during the tour?

Yes, and many of our guests do!

At the end of your tasting you’ll be given an opportunity to purchase wine that you’ve enjoyed throughout your tasting. Our vehicles have ample room in the back to store the wine that everyone has purchased throughout the day.

If you’re from overseas or interstate, and would like to send wine home, you can also take advantage of the Margaret River Mixed Case Shipping
service, which makes it easy to order from different wineries. At the final winery, they’ll pack all of your bottles together and have it delivered.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you give us:
More than 14+ days notice: We are happy to offer you a full refund.
Between 7 and 14 days notice: We can offer a 50% refund. The closer we get to the tour date, the less likely it is that we will be able to resell your spot if you have to cancel, so this partial refund protects our small business from unrecoverable losses.

Less than 7 days notice: Unfortunately, we are unable to refund you. This includes “no-shows” and missed tours.

Notice period is calculated from 10:30am on the date of your scheduled tour, and any refunds are exclusive of booking fees. To cancel your booking, please email us or call/text/Whatsapp us on +61 428 179 729.

Are kids allowed on tour?

Yes, kids are welcome on our small group tours. Lunch is included for children, except for infants under 3 years old – in that case, we’re unable to provide infant meals and the ticket price reflects this.

If you need a child or booster seat, just let us know ahead of time and we’ll have one ready for you. Please note our drivers aren’t able to install the seats (as they’re not licensed installers), but parents can fit them easily when we collect your group.

We do ask that children are supervised throughout the day by their parents or family. Our drivers are wonderful hosts, but they also need to chat with cellar door staff, stay in touch with our admin team, and take breaks while guests are enjoying tastings, so they aren’t able to babysit during the tour.

Private Tours

Do you offer Private Tours?

Yes! Private tours are one of Tannin Road’s specialties. Whether you’re planning a romantic day out, celebrating a special occasion, or simply prefer a more personalised experience, we’ll design a bespoke itinerary just for you.

You can choose between two vehicle options for your private tour, depending on your group size:

  • 6 people or less – we have our luxury model 6 seater KIA Carnival, perfect for couples or very small groups wanting an intimate and flexible experience.
  • 7 – 11 people – we have our clean, air-conditioned, Toyota Hiace, ideal for slightly larger groups who’d like to explore the region together without sacrificing comfort.

You can explore our current Private Tour options here.

If you have particular wineries, food stops, or experiences in mind, just let us know! We love tailoring days to your interests or designing one from scratch.

Can you cater to special venue requests, like a must-see winery?

Yes! That’s one of the best parts of a private tour. You can tell us exactly which wineries (or breweries, distilleries, or other stops) you’d like to include, and we’ll design the day around them.

If you’re not sure where to go or have one place you know you want to visit, we’re more than happy to suggest an itinerary that’s perfect for your group. Whether that’s the top 5 wineries that Margaret River is known for (there’s actually 7 but we wouldn’t have enough time to visit all of them in a day!), a mix of well-known wineries and boutique hidden gems (a speciality of ours), or a family friendly itinerary so 6 parents can sip in peace while 4 kids are distracted. Either way, we’ll plan the timing and book everything in so the day runs smoothly.

How many people can join a private tour?

Our private tours can accommodate up to 6 people in our luxury Kia Carnival, or up to 11 people in our modern 11-seater van.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate groups larger than 11 people.

Can you plan the itinerary for us if we’re not sure where to go?

Absolutely. We love putting itineraries together and can recommend a mix of wineries (and even breweries or distilleries if you’d like). We’ll handle all the bookings and timings so the day runs smoothly.

What’s included in the private tour?

Private tours include return transport from your accommodation in one of our vehicles, with a friendly local guide looking after you for the day.

Lunch and tasting fees are paid directly to the venues as this gives you the flexibility to choose venues and experiences that suit your style and budget. Many Margaret River wineries have redeemable tasting fees, so this often is not a factor for groups buying wine on their tour.

How long should we book for - 5, 6 or 7 hours?

It depends on how much you’d like to fit in.

5 hours: usually 2-3 wineries plus lunch

6 hours: 3-4 wineries plus lunch

7 hours: 4-5 wineries plus lunch, or a more relaxed pace with extra time at each stop

This is an estimate only, as some venues or experiences take longer than others. A venue that offers a 3 course meal for lunch with a wine tasting beforehand, ask us to allow 2 hours 45 mins for this experience, which takes up a significant portion of a 5 hour tour.

Can we be picked up from different locations?

Absolutely. Just let us know when you book what the different locations are, and we’ll confirm what’s possible for your itinerary, taking into account the extra pickup times.

Can children join a private tour?

Yes, kids are welcome on private tours and if you’d like, we’ll try and choose venues they might enjoy as well.
